Summers in NRMA Jindabyne
Snowy Mountains
In the past few years, I have been to Snowy Mountains only during winter (not camping yet) and always wanted to return during the summer.
There are some camping grounds in Snowy Mountains including NRMA and Discovery Parks; Ideally, advance booking is best however, if you are lucky, you can still get something available last minute on their respective websites.
Recently, We spent a few nights camping during Christmas weekend in NRMA Jindabyne which is next to Jindabyne Lake; I believe that all NRMA camping grounds are next to a water body.
Jindabyne is not very far from Perisher and Thredbo. It is a small town (after Cooma towards Perisher / Thredbo on Kosciuszko road) and Jindabyne Lake is the main attraction.

What is next door
The Kosciuszko road divides the primary shopping centre (with Woolies, shops and eateries) and the NRMA camping ground. In other words, the shopping centre is walkable from the camping grounds.
If I remember correctly, there is an Indian grocery section in Woolworths.
A BP station is close to the entrance of the camping ground, on the main road.

Among the many TODO things, we visited Perisher and Thredbo.
Perisher is the place to be in winter when the only thing visible is snow as far as you can see. It is among the largest ski resorts in the southern hemisphere (as per perisher.com.au). When we had only our elder one around 8 years old, we stayed at the heart of Perisher for many winter nights at Smiggins Hotel & Chalet Apartments. This was more of a memory trip for the elder one who is now 13 however, in absence of snow, the landscape was vasty different and both my wife and I struggled a bit to locate the places around the hotel (which was closed) and the parking.
It was a picturesque ride from Jindabyne to Perisher through Smiggins.
Thredbo is another snow/ski resort worth a visit.
Both places are less than an hour's journey from NRMA Jindabyne.
The weather
Nothing beats the Snowy Mountain areas on a clear sky - be it summer or winter.
The summer daytime temperatures are cool on a clear day and chilly at night. The initial few days were nice and perfect.
However, on later days, it rained with thunderstorms though we were not worried as we carried a good tent. However continuous rain took the fun away on the last couple of days.
